Launch iPhone Apps Directly from the Lock Screen

App switcher cards are convenient, but what if they could be accessed directly from the iPhone lock screen? RocketLauncher makes this possible on jailbroken devices, adding app previews and icon access to the lock screen in style.

tweak Rocket Launcher iOS

Once installed, RocketLauncher works using tap an hold gesture on the lock screen. This will bring up the app icons and preview cards, which will launch upon selection. Of course, if a passcode is enabled the passcode lock keypad will appear before the app is launched.

Besides a kill switch, settings for RocketLauncher include the option to show previews in full screen format, filling the lock screen instead of showing just a card. Blur and tint toggles are also included, as well as custom app selections.

RocketLauncher provides space for seven different apps to be displayed on the lock screen. By default, the tweak will display the first seven apps already in the iOS app launcher. Under Settings -> RocketLauncher -> Custom Application Settings, specific apps can be selected to always appear in the launcher. They can also be reordered by dragging items in the list.

RocketLauncher is available from Cydia on the ModMyi repo for $1.00. Check here for instructions on how to jailbreak iOS 7.x with evasi0n 7. You can also find out how to purchase and install Cydia tweaks with this guide.
