Pangu 9 untethered jailbreak for iOS 9 now available

Pangu 9

The Pangu Team has done it again, releasing an untethered jailbreak for iOS 9 less than a month after the OS was released. The jailbreak tool is available now through pangu.io. Pangu 9 is only available for Windows at this time, but a Mac version should be in the works.

The jailbreak tool works with devices running iOS 9.0 to 9.0.2. The Pangu website only lists the iPod touch, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5/5c/5s, iPhone 6/6 Plus, iPhone 6s/6s Plus, iPad mini 2/3/4, and iPad Air/Air 2 as supported devices. There is no mention of the iPad 2 or 3, but I'm not sure why.

As always, make sure you backup your device before jailbreaking and make sure you follow all the instructions on the Pangu website. For example, Pangu recommends disabling flight mode and Find My iPhone for best results.

The Pangu Team has quickly become the go to hackers for iOS jailbreaks since they released the controversial iOS 7.1.1 jailbreak tool in 2014. Pangu also jailbroke iOS 8.0 to iOS 8.1 before jailbreaking iOS 9.0.
