Use Spotify music for an iPhone alarm with SpotAlarm

SpotAlarm setup

While the iPhone offers many different alarm sounds, many users prefer to wake up with music playing. Choosing your favorite song or using Apple Music as your alarm works well. Now thanks to the jailbreak tweak SpotAlarm, fans of the streaming music service Spotify can use any Spotify track as an alarm. The tweak is compatible with iOS 8 and iOS 9 on jailbroken devices.

Once installed, SpotAlarm offers simple options under Settings. Besides a toggle to enable and disable the tweak, there's a text field that is used to determine which song should be played. To configure SpotAlarm with a Spotify track:

1. Open the Spotify app and open the song to play

2. Tap the share button

3. Select Copy Song Link

4. Navigate to Settings -> SpotAlarm

5. Paste the link from Spotify into the text field

There are a couple of caveats to SpotAlarm, which are required to make the tweak work properly. For one, the tweak only works with passcode or touch ID disabled. Furthermore, since the track will be streaming directly from Spotify, the iPhone requires a data connection to play the song when your alarm goes off.

SpotAlarm is free on the Cydia app store. To start customizing iOS, click here for instructions on how to jailbreak iOS 9 with Pangu. Find out how to purchase and install Cydia tweaks with this guide.
