Five Nights at Freddy's spinoff delayed for being too dark

Five Nights at Freddy's creator, Scott Cawthon, is not known for sticking with scheduled release dates, but most of the time it's because he likes to release titles early, not late. On Tuesday, Cawthon announced that his FNAF spinoff, Sister Location, "might be postponed" because certain plot elements are very "dark." Cawthon said the game could be delayed up to "several months" to give him time to rework it into a more kid friendly title.

Developer Scott Cawthon has been teasing a new spinoff/sequel to his hit game, Five Nights at Freddy's for a few weeks, and today he has released the first full trailer for the upcoming game. Cawthon released a teaser image of an animatronic female character with the title "Sister Location" in April, but he hasn't revealed many details about the new title. His official website currently features the tagline "everyone, please stay in your seats," to go along with the original tagline, "there was never just one."

After releasing FNaF World a few weeks early to Steam, developer Scott Cawthon pulled the game due to negative reviews. In a note published on the Steam, Cawthon said he was "not satisfied with the reviews and ratings" the game was recieving even though it had a "Very Postive" overall response from players. Most of the negative reviews were directed towards the rushed and unfinished feeling of the game. Cawthon said he is currently polishing up FNaF World and creating a "fully 3D overworld" for a future release.

Five Nights At Freddy's developer Scott Cawthon announced over the weekend that he is working on a novel based on his hit video game.

"This is not something recent; I've been working alongside a professional writer for the last ten months crafting this story, and I'm very excited about the finished product," Cawthon explained on the FNAF Steam page. "It expands the mythos and reveals a human element never before seen in the games."

Developer Scott Cawthon announced today that he is planning to release a free update for Five Nights at Freddy's 4. The post titled "Halloween Content Update" was published on the game's official Steam page. Cawthon said that he is currently working on new content that will include "a cheat menu, a challenge menu, a twist on a familiar minigame" and a possible sneak peek at a new game that is not FNaF5.
