Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

This August Hearthstone players will be able to travel to Northrend where they'll confront the Lich King and earn new legendary Hero Cards. Blizzard announced on Thursday that Knights of the Frozen Throne will be the new expansion to their popular strategy game.

Knights of the Frozen Throne takes players to the Icecrown Citadel, the Lich King’s frozen fortress and home of forbidden runic magic. In the expansion players will be able to participate in a series of free missions in an effort to impress or challenge the Lich King. Heroes can receive the King's favor in the form of nine new legendary Hero Cards, or challenge him and other bosses to earn a random legendary Death Knight Hero Card.

Hearthstone fans rejoice! The popular card game’s latest expansion (Whispers of the Old Gods) is upon us, and with it comes 134 new cards to play with.

While this number is certainly exciting, it’s also somewhat intimidating. Resources for acquiring new cards in Hearthstone are always low (unless you happen to not be opposed to spending a lot of money on the game) meaning that being able to acquire all of these new cards will take some time.

Blizzard on Friday revealed all 134 cards from the upcoming "Whispers of the Old Gods" expansion for its collectible card game, Hearthstone. You can see all of the cards uploaded to the Hearthstone Facebook page, and see some of them in action during the live exhibition matches which were held on Thursday.

As promised, Blizzard Entertainment has updated Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft with an "all-new intuitive interface" for the iPhone and iPod touch. The game has also received a few minor bug fixes and an indicator to alert you if you're losing your connection.

Hearthstone is a collectible card game like Magic the Gathering. The game is free to play and promises to be easy for beginners to learn. Players can build their own collection of cards by participating in 1-on-1 battles and single player adventures. The game also features a pay-to-play Arena mode and the option to buy additional cards as in-app purchases, but spending real money is not necessary.
