Low Cost iPhone to be iPhone 5 and iPod Frankenstein

Apple's low-cost iPhone will feature "a 4-inch screen, like the iPhone 5, a bottom like the latest iPod touch, and a shape that’s most similar to the iPod classic," according to iLounge's Jeremy Horwitz. The phone will be comprised mostly of plastic like a previous rumor suggested, and it will feature the same sensor, camera, and button arrangement as the iPhone 5. The low-cost iPhone 5 will also sport a Gorilla Glass screen, "pill-shaped" volume buttons, and Lightning port.

iPhone 5S rumors

Here's Horwitz's description of the new phone:

"Apple’s budget housing looks closest to the iPod classic in shape, though not in materials. Unlike the plastic iPhone 3G/3GS, which featured soft curves on all sides, the budget iPhone’s curves start and end at flat surfaces, so each side and the back are flat..."

Hilarious iPhone Math Rumor Making Some Apple Fans Very Nervous

It's bad enough that the mainstream media and blogosphere have been predicting Apple's demise due to supply chain rumors and analyst predictions, but now a new report from BrightWire has some Apple fans really concerned. BrightWire claims Chinese and Taiwanese news sources are reporting that Apple plans to release three new iPhone models in 2013, and one of the models will be called the iPhone Math!

iPhone Math Rumor

Not only is it hard to believe Apple would pick such a ridiculous sounding name for an iPhone, but many believe the original meaning was lost in translation. However, BrightWire is sticking to its story while reminding people it's only a rumor. According to the original report, Apple plans to release both the iPhone 5S and iPhone Math before the end of June. The iPhone 5S will feature a 4-inch display, while the iPhone Math will sport a larger 4.8-inch display. Both cameras will be equipped with 8 megapixel cameras, and the third unnamed phone will feature a 12 megapixel camera.

Otterbox Announces Toughest iPhone 5 Case Ever Built

Otterbox has announced its new Armor Series of smartphone cases for the iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5. Otterbox claims these are the toughest cases they've ever built, and says they're waterproof for 30 minutes in 6.6 ft. of water, and can survive 10 ft. drops. The Armor case also allows for zero entry of dust and debris and can withstand two tons of crushing force.

iPhone Cases

The iPhone 5 case weights 3.91 oz and the iPhone 4/4S case weighs 4.23 oz. The case will set you back $100, but that's a lot cheaper than replacing your smashed or water damaged iPhone.
