iPhone 5 Gamepad Accessory in the Works

Sure we've seen similar projects before, but now the real deal has been leaked by @evleaks. Logitech's gamepad accessory for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s is coming soon, and it will look like the photo below.

The iPhone fits securely inside the gaming-friendly case, making the setup appear similar to a PS Vita. Controls include a directional pad on the left, four action buttons, and two additional buttons on the corners of the gamepad. Logitech is no doubt taking advantage of new support for game controllers that Apple has built into iOS 7.

Apple Brings Back the Official iPhone Dock for $29

There was a time when Apple sold iPhone docks, but with the iPhone 5 the company decided to leave the dock business to third-party accessory manufacturers. Fast forward to now, and Apple has decided to offer two different Lightning connector docks for $29 each. One will be designed for the iPhone 5 and 5s, while the other will fit the colorful iPhone 5c.

Made of white plastic, these new Apple docks look similar in appearance to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 3G docks, which are still available in the Apple Store online. The simple base connects via the Lightning port on the bottom of the iPhone, holding the device up. These updated Apple docks feature special audio porting for better clarity during speakerphone calls

Sony Makes iPhone Attachable Lens Cameras Official

Apple is known for having high quality cameras in its flagship smartphone. Now Sony has announced an accessory that could boost iPhone photography even further, the smartphone attachable lens camera. This new concept was leaked several times earlier this year, with photos previewing the devices ahead of Sony's official announcement.

Now the details have been revealed, and two models of lens camera are available for pre-order ahead of shipping on September 28. These all-in-one lens and sensor units clip to any smartphone running the PlayMemories Mobile app, which is currently available for iOS and Android. The smartphone pairs via Wi-Fi to the lens camera, and acts as the camera display and controls.

Sony to Announce iPhone and Android Smartphone Lenses at IFA

More details about Sony's new lens attachment for Apple and Android mobile phones has been leaked. Sony is expected to announce the DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100 “lenscameras” at the IFA trade show in Berlin in September. The QX10 will feature the same 18MP CMOS sensor and f/3,3-5.9 lens as the Sony Cyber-shot WX150, and will be priced at $250, according to SonyAlphaRumors. The QX100 will cost around $450, and will feature the same sensor and lens as the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100 II.

SonyAlphaRumors has also learned that the new lenses will be called “Smart Shots“, which is a combination of "smartphone" and "Cyber-Shot". The lens attachments will feature lens stabilization and will be able to capture low noise full HD video in MP4 format. The lenses will also support Sony's PlayMemories Mobile app, and connect to both iOS and Android devices via Wi-Fi/NFC.
