Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Returns to iOS

After a brief disappearance from the App Store, Rockstar Games has re-released Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the iPhone. This brings the free game to version 4.0 and the $4.99 full game to version 2.0. The game requires iOS 5.0 or later, and the update brings iOS 7 compatibility to the title.

Retina display graphics have also been added for the iPhone 4 and 4s. While the graphics are much improved, the title is not width-optimized for larger iPhone 5 and 5s displays. Both the paid and lite versions will demand 250 MB of space on a compatible iOS device.

Santa will Bring Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to iOS Devices

Remember CJ and the Grove Street Families? Rockstar games has announced the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for iOS devices next month. First released in 2004, the game defined GTA back in the days of PlayStation 2. The mobile version will feature remastered graphics and other enhancements.

iOS gamers can expect full iOS 7 external controller support, in addition to brand new touch controls and contextual control options. San Andreas has been upgraded by Rockstar with dynamic shadows, an enriched color palette, and greater draw distance. Even characters and car models have been improved and enhanced beyond the original game.

Rockstar Games has released a companion app for Grand Theft Auto V, which launches for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 tomorrow. The app entitled iFruit allows users to create their own unique vehicle, and reserve custom license plates for both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online. iFruit also works as the ultimate GTA hub offering the latest Grand Theft Auto news, and the ability to log into the Rockstar Games Social Club.

iOS users can earn advantages by taking care of their virtual pet Chop the Dog via the app. Feeding, playing and walking Chop will make him more helpful and responsive to Franklin within the console version of the game. Users can also teach Chop tricks like begging and earn credits to purchase him new collars.

Rockstar Games has dropped the price of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for iOS in a limited time offer. At just $1.99 now it's the perfect time to grab GTA Vice City for your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. The game was initially launched in December for $4.99, matching the price of GTA III on the iOS App Store.

Several enhancements to the game have arrived in the iOS version, celebrating the 10th anniversary of Vice City on the Playstation 2. Besides better targeting options and customized controls, graphics have received a boost with updated character models and lighting effects. Rockstar Games has confirmed the 10th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be released for iOS and Android on December 6th. Fans of the game can expect the title to sell on the App Store for $4.99, matching the price of Grand Theft Auto III.
