As Apple's September launch event quickly approaches, the company is expected to make changes to the next generation iPhone lineup. iOS 16 beta 6 has been released, bringing the latest software version to beta testers everywhere. As the finishing touches are placed on iOS 16, reports show the iPhone 14 hardware coming into focus. 2022 may offer two iPhone 14 models alongside two versions of the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro.

Apple looks poised to place the letter "i" on the front of the next generation iPhone, if reports are true. The iPhone 14 may shed its famous notch at the top of the screen for a different configuration of sensor cutouts. The so-called "hole-punch and pill" design has been leaked through purported schematics (above) and a photo of a screen component from behind. Rumors indicate Apple is moving away from a full notch design but still needs to accommodate a long list of sensors in front of the iPhone 14.

The Oculus Quest 2 (pictured above) may have some serious competition from Apple starting next year. Apple plans to launch a combined augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) stand-alone headset. The company is likely to reveal the new hardware at WWDC over the summer, giving developers time to create apps. Apple is expected to produce a lightweight, sleek design with swappable headbands.

This fall Apple has big plans for the next generation Apple Watch. The Series 7 will reportedly offer a larger screen and redesigned case. The last time Apple gave its watches a larger display was three years ago on the Series 4 models.

Apple looks set to release a third generation iPhone SE early next year. The update will bring the company's A14 chip to the SE, matching the current flagship iPhone 12. Not only this, but the iPhone SE 2022 is expected to support 5G service. Apple debuted 5G wireless on the iPhone 12 last fall.
