Quote from here: http://www.iphonefaq.org/archives/97139"Q. Do you have a special return policy for iPhones? A. Yes...." I haven't read the original source but I assume its a copy and paste, this is in my opinion somewhat misleading, or dare I say direct lie? " Special return policy" is what the question states, the answer starts out with YES?! What's so "special" about this legal requirement as found on ANY mobile phone in the USA? P.S. 30 days in California, again BY LAW!

It's special because AT&T's normal return policy is 30 days.
They're only giving 14 days on the iPhone and I heard there's a 10% restocking fee too.

10% restocking fee too if you so much as puncture the shrink wrap. 10% is one of the lower restocking fees in the business. If you had the phone 14days and have to pay 10% thats like $4.30/day not bad rent in my opinion!

Why take back an opened one anyway? sell it on ebay and get more than you paid for it

if you bothered to inform yourself about the iphone's features and/or lackthereof, there should be no reason to take the phone back that is, unless you're hating the low volume like i am

Because you will be paying more than you get for it on eBay in the long (2 year contract) run!

i'm really confused by the amount of variation in volume reports... though most people seem to report VERY low volumes, you see the occasional high volume report
doesn't make any sense

It depends where you are. California law provides 30-days to cancel a cell-phone contract and return equipment. They can still charge a re-stocking fee. Don't let them strong-arm you. It's the law, which inviolates any contradictory terms of any contract, including theirs.
I might have to cancel mine, as well. AT&T has THE WORST NETWORK I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! Talk about false advertising?? Fewest dropped calls? I've had 4 dropped/failed calls today, and it's only 11am. I'm simply stunned how aweful it is. I can't get reception in THE MIDDLE OF LOS ANGELES!!! This is the mecca for cell phone usage worldwide, if there ever was one! Coverage is spotty at best. I've had more dropped calls these past 3 weeks than I've had collectively since 1997 when I got my first cell phone from GTE!
Dropped calls, failed calls, terrible voice quality, terrible customer service, inconsistent coverage when it exists (I watch as the signal strength blinks to zero, then to two, then 4, then back to two and then out completely again as the phone sites on my desk in my office!!).
WHEN DO THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS BEGIN???`

Are you sure this isn't something to do with your iPhone (i.e. bad phone, bad SIM, etc)...
I have a friend in LA who is an AT&T customer (no iPhone though) and has never complained of any issues to me. Hard to believe their network would be so weak in a major city.
Have you tried swapping phones/SIMs?

A sim card would only work or NOT work, now connection TO the card is a different story.
