There was controversy with Verizon limiting full bluetooth functionality on some Motorola phones in the past.  Does anyone know if AT&T has plans to try something similar with the iphone?  I would think they will make enough money without limiting multimedia file transfers, etc.  Personally if I was going to spend that much on an iphone, I would expect full functionality and compliance with all standards.

Verizon is notorious for these kinds of limitations. They'll do anything to keep you from getting content onto your phone without paying them for it.

In any event, I would suspect that even Verizon doesn't put these kind of limits on "smartphone" type devices, which the iPhone would certainly fall into.

Either way, Cingular/AT&T has never placed any such kinds of limitations (afaik), so I certainly wouldn't expect them to do such with the iPhone.

Who knows what the version of OSX on the iPhone will and won't do, though.

I think Apple is pulling ALL the strings with this deal. It's what they say goes, and with the phone being theres...it will have full functionalities.

Apple or no Apple, AT&T doesn't place BT restrictions.

Does anyone know if the BT 2.0 standard allows for the iPhone to play music via the BT headset?

I'm asking this because I usually only listen to music in one ear, and it would be great to be able to just use the wireless headset for both phone/music. I would not mind having to charge a bluetooth headset every night.
