Reports now indicate Apple will
require
an itunes account in the iphone setup process. Sounds like an inconvenience for those of us who don't use itunes. Any thoughts on this?

I think its actually a good idea. Because to sell a device at 6pm, and have every customer wait in line for sign ups--it makes sense to streamline the process and have device activation that can be done at home, through itunes.

i think the 12 mystery app is a way to buy ringtones off itunes, hence the requirement for the account. In the training manual it says that MEdianet is not supported (ringtones, wallpaper, etc.)
