Auxo Tweaks Multitasking on the iPhone

We recently took a look at jLauncher, which upgrades the stock multitasking dock into a full screen control center. Although there are many of these tweaks available, Auxo brings app switcher redesign to a new level. The idea for Auxo was originally just a concept, but designer @Sentry_NC has teamed up with developers to make the iOS tweak reality.

Auxo tweak multitasking iOS

Auxo replaces the normal multitasking dock icons with versatile app cards. Besides offering a preview of each app, they can be removed by simply swiping down. No more holding an icon and tapping red circles individually. Tapping and holding one app card will give you the option to remove all multitasking and recently opened apps at once. Auxo will even remind you that an app is doing something in the background, such as playing music, and confirm the exit.

Add Topography View to Google Maps iOS App

Now that Google Maps for iOS has arrived, developers have started working on tweaks to make the app even better for those with jailbroken iPhones. We recently looked at MapsOpener, which makes Google Maps the default mapping application, circumventing Apple's stock maps app entirely. Now you can improve Google Maps by enabling a secret topography mode.

Google Maps Topography option

The Google Maps sidebar has several options, including Traffic, Public transit and Satellite modes. For some reason, Google decided to disable Topography mode when it launched Google Maps for iOS. Luckily, the only thing you need to activate the topographic maps on your jailbroken iPhone is a tweak by developer Ryan Petrich.

Safari JavaScript Bug Discovered in iOS 6

Notice those Smart App Banners that appear when you're visiting a website in Safari on the iPhone? They can be convenient, reminding you that an app is available for download in iOS 6. If you already have the app installed, they will even prompt you to open the app.

Mobile Safari iOS 6

Now it turns out a bug has been discovered, which according to AppleInsider will circumvent user-defined JavaScript settings. The strange behavior is only noticeable if you're in the habit of keeping Settings -> Safari -> JavaScript -> OFF. Once a Smart App Banner appears your JavaScript setting will automatically revert to ON.

Cycloramic Automatically Spins the iPhone 5

Believe it or not your iPhone 5 can automatically take a panoramic video thanks to the Cycloramic app. Operation is simple enough, just select how many times you want the iPhone 5 to spin around, and decide which camera you want to record from (front or back). The app takes care of the rest.

iOS app Cycloramic spin

Tapping GO makes the iPhone start spinning around slowly completely hands free, while recording a video to your camera roll. Although it works on older iPhones, the app is recommended for the iPhone 5, which spins properly thanks to how the vibration motor is designed. To make the app work, you must also have Settings -> Sounds -> Vibrate on Ring set to ON.
