"Test of Wits" Shows iPhone Users are the Smartest Smartphone Users

Whenever popular products or brands are in competition people inevitably try to draw correlations and make assumptions about the consumers of one product versus those of the other. The subject of comparison can range from economic status to obesity to age or gender, and just about anything else you can think of. Sometimes the conclusions are drawn from serious academic study, but most are drawn from simple, biased observation. A recent not-so-scientific test carried out by UK bookmaker Ladbrokes concluded that iPhone users are more intelligent than Google, Samsung, HTC, Nokia and Blackberry owners.

Test of Wits

Ladbrokes chose 1,000 participants from a list of smartphone owners that had downloaded their mobile app. The participants' mental acuity was then challenged by seven brainteasers designed to test pattern recognition and problem solving ability. Each question had to be answered (and they were multiple choice) before

Speed up iOS 7 With NoSlowAnimations Jailbreak Tweak

One of the biggest complaints against iOS 7 has been its sluggish performance due to the slow animations that occur when opening an app or a folder. Although Apple purposefully designed iOS 7 this way in order to create a more enveloping user experience, most people seem to prefer quick access without the aesthetic bells and whistles. If the animations aren't your cup of tea, you can use the new jailbreak tweak NoSlowAnimations to speed up your experience.

NoSlowAnimations

The NoSlowAnimations tweak, which was developed by Marco Singhof, can be found on Cydia in the BigBoss repository. Simply install the app and you should notice a significant increase in animation speed, especially while switching, launching and closing apps. There is no setup process and there are no options to configure, but

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Now Available for iOS Devices

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is now available for iOS devices. The game allows users to race as Sonic and 10 legendary racers from the Sonic the Hedgehog universe or other SEGA games. The official app description doesn't list which characters are available in the mobile version, but players could originally play as characters such as Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick on the console version. The "transformed" part comes into play when racers turn their cars into other vehicles like a boat. The game was originally launched for consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as a sequel Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing.

How to Make Your iPhone's Text Easier to Read and Turn Off App Animations

A lot of iOS users don't like the look of iOS 7, and some even claim that its new animations give them motion sickness. Luckily you can change the look and size of your device's text, and disable the app animations and parallax effect that are making some users nauseous. Here's how:

Bold Text iOS 7

You can make the text in iOS 7 bold by navigating to Settings > General > Accessibility and tapping Turn on Bold Text. You can also adjust the size of the text for apps that support Dynamic Type by tapping Text Size and using the slider to make it larger. This is also found in the Accessibility section under General in the Settings app.

First Touch ID Jailbreak Tweak Hits Cydia

It didn't take long for the first Touch ID tweak to land in the Cydia app store. Virtual Home allows you to use your Home button to access the app switcher or return to the Home screen without actually pressing down on the physical button. The tweak basically transforms your Touch ID sensor into a virtual Home button, hence the name.

Virtual Home

Once installed, Virtual Home users can tap their Home button once to return to their Home screen, or tap and hold their Home button to open the app switcher in iOS 7. These gestures replace the need to press the Home button which gives it a much needed break from all your finger poking.
