Using Burst Mode on the iPhone 5s

Burst mode is one of the latest additions to the stock iOS Camera app. With burst mode, limited to the iPhone 5s, images can be captured in Photo or Square mode at 10 frames per second. Up to 999 photos can be taken in a single burst. Recent interface improvements make it easy to choose the best photos from a burst group before discarding the rest to free up storage space.

Initiating burst mode requires no prior setup. Simply open the Camera app, frame your shot, and hold down the shutter release button. This works with the on-screen button and the volume buttons. Rapid fire captures will start, with matching sound effects and a frame count displayed on the screen. In the example above, 8 separate photos were taken in under a second.

Apple's 12 Days of Gifts App Now Available in the U.S.

Apple has released its 12 Days of Gifts app to the U.S. App Store. This is the first time the free gift guide has been available in the United States, but there is a catch, the application requires iOS 7 or later to download.

iPhone and iPad users who are running iOS 7 can download the app now for free from the App Store. The app allows users to download 1 gift a day starting on December 26 to January 6. Gifts include songs, apps, books, movies, and games. Each free download only lasts 24 hours, but you can set up the app to notify you each time a new gift is available so you don't miss out.

Shazam Update Adds Support for Rdio

Shazam is often the go-to iOS app when it comes to identifying and tagging music. The free service keeps adding on new ways to share, learn about, and listen to music of all stripes. Since the iOS 7 overhaul, Shazam has receive several updates on iTunes, bringing the current version to 7.2.0.

Rdio fans will notice the latest update has a built-in function to play tagged Shazam tracks as a Rdio playlist. For those who aren't familiar, Rdio blends streaming music with social media, making it possible to learn about new music from friends and followers. Rdio functionality joins other services already on the list in Shazam, including Spotify, YouTube, iTunes, lyrics display and more.

Pandora Radio App Redesigned for iOS 7, Adds Alarm Clock Option

iOS users can now wake up to their favorite musical artists thanks to Pandora's new alarm clock mode. Version 5.1 of the Pandora Radio app not only brings a refreshed design for iOS 7 and some bug fixes, but it also adds the option to set an alarm using your favorite radio station.

Users can set the new alarm by navigating to the settings section of the radio station they want to use. The Alarm Clock configurations are at the bottom of the page in the "CLOCK" section under "Sleep Timer". Just tap the Alarm Clock bar to set the time, station, snooze length and volume. Your Pandora app will then alert you when it is time to wake up.

Razer iPhone GamePad Leaked

It looks like Razer, who is known for making high quality PC gaming accessories, is working on their own iPhone game controller. The always reliable @evleaks today posted several press shots of the new device called "Kazuyo."

As you can see from the leaked image above, the gaming pad features a directional pad, shoulder buttons, and four regular buttons. There also appears to be a speaker on the right hand side of the controller.
