The official Microsoft Remote Desktop app is available for free on the iOS App Store. Now those with a Windows computer can access their desktop from anywhere with an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. Microsoft even offers an online help page to assist iOS users with connecting to their Windows PC.

Remote Desktop makes it possible to connect to a wide range of Windows machines, log on and manipulate the computer over a wireless data connection. Thanks to remote desktop protocol (RDP) and RemoteFX supporting Windows gestures, iOS users can enjoy multi-touch functionality while connected. Improved compression and bandwidth usage means even high quality video and sound can be streamed using the Remote Desktop app.

Anki DRIVE, featured in Apple's latest iPhone keynote presentation is now available. The starter kit runs $199.95 and comes with two cars and a special racing track. Each vehicle drives itself with artificial intelligence, while players can control the vehicles for interactive fun. Anki DRIVE is described as the first video game in the real world.

Two expansion cars are available separately for $69.95 each. The action is powered by a free iOS app, which wirelessly connects to the racing cars. Each car has special weapons for battle on the track, and evolves intelligently over time as racing experience accumulates. Players can race against friends or the artificial intelligence built into each independent vehicle brain.

While a jailbreak solution for iOS 7 may not yet exist, every new firmware release means waiting for the all-clear from someone in the know.
