GoPro owners can now stream live video using the Periscope app on their iPhone. Periscope made the announcement on their blog on Tuesday. The blog app also includes a set of instructions (see below) on how to get started.
The new version of the app also allows users to easily switch between their GoPro and iPhone cameras, and it adds a new button to lock your phone screen so you can keep it in your pocket while streaming from your GoPro.
Periscope is a live broadcasting app from Twitter. Users can use the app to stream live video to their followers from their iOS device. Users can then follow the stream, comment and send hearts in real time. The app is free on the Apple App Store. It supports all devices running iOS 7.1 or later. Current Periscope users can upgrade to version 1.3.3 of the app with GoPro support starting today. The Periscope app only supports the GoPro HERO 4.
How to connect your GoPro to Periscope
- Download or upgrade the Periscope app to version 1.3.3.
- Connect to your GoPro’s WiFi, making sure it’s on video mode.
- Open Periscope on your iPhone and tap the broadcast button.
- The GoPro button will automatically be highlighted . Tap it and go live.
