Apple Watch

It should come as no surprise that Apple is working on the next generation Apple Watch. A report detailed by MacRumors indicates Quanta Computer has confirmed development of an upgraded watch coming late in the second quarter of next year. With the initial release planned for June 2016, production can then ramp up later in the year to fulfill demand. Rumors have pointed to several hardware and software improvements in the Apple Watch 2.

Apple has begun selling “Made for Apple Watch” lugs through its authorized distributor Avnet. The stainless steel lugs are required for accessory makers to make third-party Apple Watch bands that comply with Apple's band design guidelines.

Apple kicked off its fall media event with an exploration of updates coming to Apple Watch. Version 2 of watchOS will include several enhancements, such as Time Travel. Turning the Digital Crown forward previews one's entire day. In addition to third party complications, which can display an array of data right on the watch face, Transit will be added to map functions. Overall, there are 10,000 watch applications currently available.

According to rumors Tim Cook and team has a lot planned for Apple fans during its upcoming September 9th media event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, CA. Not only is Apple going to unveil its new iPhone 6s, but the company is expected to announce its redesigned Apple TV and new Apple Watch Sport band colors, according to 9to5Mac.

When the Apple Watch was first revealed, speculation was rampant as to whether the wearable would be fully waterproof or not. Of course, Apple's official line is that the watch is splash and water resistant but not waterproof. With an official IPX7 rating submersion beyond one meter for 30 minutes is not recommended. The real-life experience of many users has shown that Apple Watch may exceed this rating, however swimming and diving could be risky.
