Does the iPhone support Flash?
No. The iPhone does not support flash.
Apple has been clear, up until this point, that they do not intend to support Flash on the iPhone. Adobe announced its own plans to support Flash on the iPhone when the iPhone SDK was released, but was forced to repeal their own comments when they discovered the SDK did not provide enough access to the iPhone OS "innards" to provide such support.
Future generations of the iPhone may support Flash, but for now, the answer is no.

I really hope it will support flash games and applications ina way that it's possible to "install" them. Not just flash ads on webpages.

Apple has clearly stated that any Applications made in Flash will NOT be supported. They state a great deal of crashes on the mac system was due to flash. But more and more sites are displaying H.264 video format (Like Youtube) and H.264 is 100% compatible with the iPhone. Also the new HTML5 supports video (H.264, MPEG-4, MP4) and in turn so will the the iPhone / iPad. Flash is just to bulky. Anyways flash causes your mobile device to drain 2-3 times the power to run it.

lets be honest and admit that the reason Java and Flash aren't on the iphone/ipad/ipod touch is not because of crashing or inferior technology. Its because Apple is by and large in the software business now via apps. They don't want you to be able to browse flash games online or utilize web based Java utilities. They want you to buy those from the App store.

I'm sure your comments are well-intended, but merely a few days with a Mac would show you just how buggy and unstable Flash is. If Adobe wants to get on the iPhone, it first must prove its commitment and capabilities by building a Flash product that can work reliably on the Mac. Without that, I wouldn't give Adobe the time of day -- much less the access to a new group of products that they can screw up!

Choose a stance and set yourself up correctly. There are a number of different stances to choose from, depending on your style of sword fighting and type of sword. Most stances will have you put one foot in front of the other and bring your sword up in front of you. Thanks a lot.

You are exactly right! With flash Apple looses the control it so desperately clings too. It allows apps to be purchased outside the App Store and music to be downloaded without the use of iTunes which ultimately takes much money and control away from Apple. Apple banned the app Netshare from the app store because it violates AT&T's user agreement by turning the iPhone into a wireless tethering device. With flash it would also open the door for apps such as Netshare to return.

Wow that was an interesting article. The crazy thing is that although Flash is not compatible with the iPhone or iPad the latest version of Adobe Flash, CS5, could eventually http://paraorkut9.org/ be the largest source of iPhone / IPAD application developers as CS5 Flash allows developers to create iPhone applications using the Flash IDE.

It either supports Flash or the iPhone TV ads are fake. If you watch the one where they browse to the New York Times site, they show the video player on the home page which is written in Flash. Of course they may have just done some Final Cut Pro Magic to get that all edited together.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that those ads were taken down for that reason

How do you know its written in flash?

YouTube -- iPhone plays content from YouTube, that is all Flash, I had thought.
Why wouldn't they support Flash? Only to push QuickTime? That would be really dumb -- and bad karma.

YouTube encodes all content in Flash, yes, but has separate Quicktime servers - Darwin - that re-encodes content specifically for playback on the iPhone. I wonder how much Apple paid for that.

Honestly I have a iPhone and I find it annoying that I can't view a lot of websites or watch videos because the iPhone does not support flash. It's really stupid.
I can't even view at my own website which is flash!
