Everyone hates the new Mega Man titles on the App Store

Mega Man 2 Mobile

Instead of our normal App of the Week selection, we wanted to take the time to warn you that everyone hates the new Mega Man ports released this week to the App Store. Capcom has released six mobile versions of the original 8-bit Mega Man titles to iOS, and I have never seen so many review sites agree that something is so horrible. The six Mega Man games are the first games in recent memory to earn a 1-star review from Touch Arcade, and the reviewer, Shaun Musgrave, warns readers not to buy these titles, even for a laugh.

iOS App of the Week: Don't Starve: Shipwrecked

Don't Starve: Shipwrecked

There wasn't many new releases to the App Store this week due to the annual holiday shutdown, but one pleasant surprise was delivered the day after Christmas. Klei Entertainment released an expansion to its Don’t Starve survival series. Shipwrecked was created along with CAPY, creators of Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery.

iOS App of the Week: RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic

RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic

The RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise has had a rocky relationship with the Apple App Store. Originally released in 1999 for the PC, the popular building game has been ported to the Xbox, spawned several sequels, and there have even been rumors of a potential movie. However, the last few entries into the series have been met with negative reviews from both critics and fans. RollerCoaster Tycoon World, released in 2016, currently sports a "Mostly Negative" rating on Steam, and it has earned a dismal 43 out of 100 on the review aggregator Metacritic.

iOS App of the Week: Bully: Anniversary Edition

Bully: Anniversary Edition

The sometimes forgotten title from Rockstar Games, Bully, has been released to the App Store in celebration of its ten year anniversary. The open-world game, released to the PlayStation 2 in 2006, has always been overshadowed by Rockstar's wildly popular Grand Theft Auto series, but it seems to be enjoying a small resurgence on iOS and Android devices. Bully: Anniversary Edition has not only been trending on Facebook, but it has quickly earned a solid 5 star rating from users on the App Store.
