iPhone 5 power users will be happy to know that Mophie continues to improve their Juice Pack iPhone cases with built-in battery backup. The latest model, the Juice Pack Plus for iPhone 5 packs a 2100 mAh battery inside, exceeding the capacity of all previous models. So what does a battery this size do for your iPhone's longevity?
How about a full 120 percent extra battery power from the stock, built-in power pack on the iPhone 5? No need to do the math, essentially the Mophie case more than doubles your battery life, adding up to 10 additional hours of 3G talk time, 10 additional hours of LTE data time, and 12 extra hours of video playback.
Battery cases make great accessories for the iPhone and iPod touch. Not only do they protect the mobile device, but they increase the battery life, often doubling battery power and keeping the iPhone charged. There are always sporadic reports of lithium-ion batteries malfunctioning, which can involve excessive heat, fire or even explosions.
Lately two brands of iPhone battery cases have been recalled as problems with internal parts have been discovered. To avoid risks of overheating and possible fire, use of these cases should be discontinued immediately. The first recall involves the Rocketfish RF-KL12, designed for the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
Looking to give your iPhone 4 battery a boost? The juice pack plus from Mophie sports a massively powerful 2,000 mAh capacity battery in a sleek case. Besides fitting the iPhone 4 so well, this additional battery adds up to 8 hours 3G talk time, 7 hours 3G data time, and 11 hours video playback depending on usage conditions.
The case features an ergonomic design and rubberized bumper that will come in four colors (black is currently available and ships in 1-2 days). Your iPhone 4 can be charged and synced without removing the juice pack plus, and a built-in LED status indicator tells you how much charge is left.
Mophie and Intuit have entered the iPhone credit card transaction game with the Complete Card Solution for iPhone. Mophie, known for its iPhone battery pack cases, developed an iPhone 3G/3GS case that includes a magnetic card reader built in. When the card is swiped, data is encrypted before it uploads to the iPhone to be processed by the Intuit GoPayment 3.0 app.
Mophie is working on an iPhone 4 version of the device. In the meantime, Square features a portable card reader that plugs into the headphone jack of any iPhone or iPad. The two competing payment systems have different costs, with Square being completely free to set up. Complete Card Solution is $179 for the card reader unit and requires a $12.95 monthly subscription.
