See the Apple Watch Unboxed

Now that review units have been sent to the media, the first Apple Watch unboxing videos have surfaced. Just as with any new Apple product, it’s time for photos and analysis of the packaging surrounding the latest device. Apple Watch is the first iOS-based device to focus on fashion, and it ships ready to wear and use.

The outer box resembles Apple TV or Mac Mini packaging, which lifts off vertically. Inside, the Apple Watch is encased in a rounded case with slots to suspend the body of the device. The band has a retainer which keeps its shape, with the remaining contents of the box packaged in the bottom of the assembly.

Five Fitness Apps Ready for Apple Watch Launch

The Apple Watch will include its own suite of fitness apps and features when it begins shipping on April 24. The Watch has its own own accelerometer, heart-rate monitor and built-in activity apps to "help anyone who wears it live a healthier life." The Activity and Workout apps can track your daily movement, exercise regimes and the "Stand" feature will remind you to stop sitting every few hours. Apple Watch users will also be able to install third-party apps to monitor their various fitness activities. Apple has already listed Nike+ Running as one of the first fitness apps that will be available for the Watch on April 24, but if that is not enough, here are five more apps that will be Apple Watch-ready at launch.

iOS 8.3 Now Available [Changelog]

Apple today released iOS 8.3 to the public. The update brings a few new features such as Wireless CarPlay, a new emoji picker with over 300 new characters, new language and country support for Siri, new dictation languages and more. iOS 8.3 also includes a number of bug fixes and other improvements.

iOS 8.3 doesn't have any significant Apple Watch updates or any major new features besides Wireless CarPlay. As always, users with jailbroken devices should avoid upgrading if they want to keep all their tweaks and Cydia apps installed.

Ring Producer Signs up for Five Nights at Freddy's Movie

Warner Bros. is developing a movie based on the hit video game Five Nights at Freddy's, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Roy Lee of Vertigo Entertainment will produce along with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Productions. Lee is known for adapting the The Ring for U.S. audiences and he is also behind the upcoming Poltergeist remake hitting theaters on May 22.

Five Nights at Freddy's is a popular video game featuring creepy animatronic creatures inspired by Chuck-E-Cheese. The game was created by Scott Cawthon and has launched two sequels. All three games have been huge hits on Steam and the Apple App Store.

Mortal Kombat X Launches One Week Early for iOS Devices

Mortal Kombat X has popped up on the App Store one week before its official release. The mobile version is not a port of the console and PC game. Instead it is more like Injustice: Gods Among Us where players can unlock and collect classic Mortal Kombat fighters such as Scorpion, Johnny Cage, Sub-Zero, Sonya and more.

Mortal Kombat X for iOS allows you to build your own roster of fighters for 3v3 combat. Players can challenge other players in online battles called Faction Wars and work their way up the leaderboards while unlocking new special attacks and artifacts. The game also features Mortal Kombat's trademark Fatalities and X-Rays, the ability to form alliances with other players who can help you in combat and weekly prizes.
