As expected, Apple has released the second beta to iOS 11.1 with tons of new emoji. Apple announced the new characters on Friday. The update includes "more emotive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, food types, animals, mythical creatures and more," according to the press release.

Apple has shown off its latest emoji designs in a Newsroom post. Hundreds of emoji will be added to the iPhone and iPad when the iOS 11.1 update rolls out to users. The additions reflect characters that have already been approved in Unicode 10.

Halloween will be a little stranger this year when the hit Netflix show Stranger Things returns this October, but you can get your fix a little early by playing the official mobile game on iOS. Stranger Things: The Game was released to the Apple App Store today. It is of course an 8-bit recreation of Hawkins, Indiana with familiar locations from the award winning series, such as Mirkwood Forest and Hawkins Lab.

Apple has just released iOS 11.0.2 to fix a "crackling sound" that may occur during calls on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. This is the second bug fix released since iOS 11 was released on September 19, 2017. The new update also fixes a bug that causes some photos to be hidden, and an issue that causes some attachments in S/MME encrypted emails not to open, according to the release notes.
