How can I fix waiting iPhone apps that will not install?
When an iPhone application has a grey icon and says it's waiting, normally the app will quickly change to loading and then installing as it continues the process of downloading and installing to your device. Sometimes the app hangs at waiting and never progresses. Usually this is due to a connection problem with the App Store or some other issue.
The easiest way to correct the problem is to restart your iPhone using the power button. When the iPhone reboots the waiting icons should continue to load and install normally, assuming your cellular data or Wi-Fi connection is working properly.

Best thing to do on your phone is to go to settings > iTunes & Apple store > switch off the automatic updates. After you've done this, launch the App store on your phone & go to Updates. Once you're there, click on 'Update all' and your apps will update, thus the 'waiting' sign will disappear within a few mins.
- Your very welcome :)

I just figured it out after being frustrated for 2 days. Go into the app store on your iphone, search the app, and you will find that it is waiting to be downloaded. Has that cloud with a downward arrrow- touch to download on your phone. Let it install, then you can go back on your homescreens, and delete it by long hold, jiggle, touch the X, and it will delete. Or you can just leave it installed on your phone. This has never happened to me before. I have had this phone for 10 months.
