What are Live Photos in iOS 9?

Apple introduced Live Photos starting with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. When Live Photos are enabled, capturing a photo also records data before and after the shutter button is pressed in the Camera app.

Approximately 1.5 seconds of movement and sound is stored along with each 12-megapixel still image. Motion is played back briefly when swiping across photos, or when Live Photos are used as a lock screen wallpaper or Apple Watch face.

Live photos suck. The default should be to permanently delete this crap. Please forward to Apple or whoever. Also, delete apple watch app, if some schmuck wants it, down the trash.

Apple needs to stread every last crum of this live photo trash!! what happend to you apple? Your creater would be ashamed!

Maybe don't push new tech down our throats until you get it finished. Now I often send photos through my yahoo mail, and if they are 'live' photos they never make it. Thanks for making me look like an idiot, again.

A Live Photo is essentially a way to bring your photos to life by capturing a few seconds of video when you’re taking a photo on your Phone. More or less like a Gif, live photos can also capture audio at the same time.
