iPhone 3G and 3GS models now support five Bluetooth profiles. Here's the list of supported profiles for users running firmware 3.0.

Original iPhone:
Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)

iPhone 3G and 3GS:
Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.5)
Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
Personal Area Network Profile (PAN)

AVRCP on the iPhone 3G and 3GS only supports play, pause and stop functions.

Earlier versions of iPhone firmware running on the original iPhone and 3G models support one Bluetooth profile: Headset Profile (HSP).

The IOS4 also has support for Keyboards. Is this another profile?

How about the supported bluetooth profiles for iPhone 4S? Are there any more profiles supported OR apple is still restricting many of the important and functional bluetooth profile for iPhones
