Earlier this week, ZiPhone was released and was the first tool available that provided not only a direct jailbreak for iPhones running 1.1.3, but did so in one step. More details have emerged regarding the 1.1.3 direct jailbreak/unlock, called ZiPhone, created by Zibri. ZiPhone, which is being referred to as a "true" 1.1.3 jailbreak, specifically the method that the iPhone Dev Team was trying to keep protected until the release of the Official iPhone SDK by Apple, was released yesterday.

Earlier today, Zibri - a member of the iPhone Elite Team - released a new jailbreak utility for iPhone firmware 1.1.3. This latest jailbreak is rumored to be the same method that the iPhone Dev Team has been guarding in anticipation of the iPhone SDK release - the "true" jailbreak (as some have termed it). Zibri's jailbreak utility, called ZiPhone, is said to have been created without the assistance of the iPhone Dev Team and as such was released without their cooperation/consent.

ZiPhone will apparently take care of jailbreaking and unlocking your iPhone running firmware version 1.1.3 without requiring you to downgrade to an earlier version of firmware. What's more , Zibri claims that ZiPhone can actually 'revive' many phones with dead basebands.

Since Nate True's now less than recommended jailbreak was released just days ago, there have been a few new incarnations of 1.1.3 jailbreak methods - including the first officially sanctioned by the iPhone Dev Team. As each new jailbreak method is released, things get progressively easier for the iPhone owner. The latest method, from the iPhone Dev Team, makes having a jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone incredibly easy.

As promised, Nate True - who yesterday released a Windows version of the iPhone jailbreak for 1.1.3 - has followed up with the release of a Mac jailbreak for 1.1.3. Like the Windows version of the jailbreak, it is required that you either start with a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 iPhone or downgrade your 1.1.3 iPhone to one of these versions.
