How to repeat a song / album playing in the iPhone iPod app?

Repeat Music

Update: In iOS 10.0 or later you can set a song to repeat by swiping up on the Now Playing screen. You can click here for more details on how to set a song to repeat in the redesigned Music app.

Songs or albums can be set to repeat from the Now Playing screen in the iPhone iPod app. To set a song or album to repeat, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the iPod app.
  2. Play a song.
  3. On the Now Playing screen, you will see play and volume controls at the bottom of the screen. At the top is track information. Under the album title is a scrubbing bar that indicates the time remaining in the song.
  4. A small icon that looks like two circular arrows is on the left side below the scrubbing bar. Tap this icon once to repeat the album. The icon will turn blue when repeat is activated.
  5. Tap the icon again to repeat the current song. The icon will change to show the number 1 inside a blue circle.
  6. Touch the icon a third time to cancel any repeat. The icon will turn white when it's deactivated.

That option is NOT available longer 2013-02-05

Sorry!
Tap on now playing will show buttons .

My iPhone 4 shows orange arrows. White, orange, and orange with a 1. And no, I'm not color-deficient.
No, you're not smarter than me, and smug comments will only prove that fact.

Hi
Many thanks the songs in my playlist & albums loop ok now.
Kind regards Chairman Rao

that option does not appear on my iPod Touch 5 as 12/18/15

This does not work. I upgraded to the latest Operating system and repeat has disappeared. I have tried everything posted in apple support and on google. This is so annoying. I don't believe this would be acceptable if Steve Jobs was still around. Fix this Apple!

You have to scroll down a bit under the now playing screen,

Nope, not there. I'm frustrated that this option no longer exists with this newest version. I guess I'll have to wait until they upgrade the system... yet again. Big miss on this, Apple.

I'm an idiot. I see you're right and I had to scroll lower. Sigh... I'm wrong.

Does not alter the fact that iTunes has become a thing of such ridiculous complexity that every time I use it something has changed - the screen, the settings, the track I was playing - infuriating. Stuff is added just because the techies can, not because it is elegant or useful

Yikes , I just got the SE w the latest software and the music functions stink....

So happy to have finally figured this out. I was with this guy (lady) - so frustrated. But now I see that if I scroll down, there it is. Annoying that it was that hard to find, but happy to be able to repeat songs now! Thanks!

That is a completely stupid way to do design it. Wow. Stupid.

I have an iPhone 6s and could not find the repeat button. On the screen where the song is playing just scroll down. Move th screen with your fingers up and it will reveal repeat, shuffle, what songs are next etc

I have an iPhone 6S but no repeat or shuffle controls. I'm revealing the now playing box by swiping up (reveals camera, flashlight, etc.) then swipe to left. I see song title, album title,, progress bar, play/ff/rw, and volume bar. That's the entire box and if I try to swipe it up, it moves the whole box up until I release it and drops back down.

Whoops, found it. You have to tap on the name of the song on the now playing box which brings up another box. You can scroll down on that box to select repeat. 5 step process.

I'm getting fed up with Apple. Apple is crap. Why not make it easier to repeat jut one song in an album?

A crap-apple maybe.

I hate the new updates, hated every single new update since iOS 7. They keeps changing shit around in their settings, took me a good 15 minutes to find this solution...It's extremely annoying. I will be refusing to updating my iOS in the future, fk apple.
