How can I leave a voicemail without calling on the iPhone?

Back in the old days it was possible to call your voice mail box, choose the right option, and enter someone's phone number to record a voicemail message without calling them directly. The iPhone has changed all of that with visual voicemail. Although this option is no longer available, you can still leave somebody a voicemail without ringing their phone.

You can use Slydial, which can be found on the web at www.slydial.com. The service is free with advertising or can be purchased ad-free with a monthly subscription or per-use fee.

Slydial also has an iPhone app to streamline the process of sending voicemails.

Be warned: some users have reported that Slydial actually does not go straight to voicemail, but will register a missed call as well.

I'm a tmobile member. Currently have the iphone 5. For us, you can just call your own number and it will immediately go to your voicemail and you can choose to send a message from option 2. You just need to remember the person's number as you will need to input that.

Thank for that Tina. I'm with ATT, and I'm curious if it works like that too.

it says it has to be a tmobile number.

Duh... Why not just use text messaging? That's what it's for.
Slydial is from MobileSphere. What idiots... You just made the telemarketers dreams come true. I hope this company is sued and faces criminal charges, as well as other companies are doing this. All to make money, right? Now we have to go out of our way to find a way to block this crap. Thanks!!!

He's right you shouldn't pay for call that's just wrong.
