Keep Track of iPhone Power With Battery Status

Wouldn't it be nice if your jailbroken iPhone told you battery information every time you plugged it in to charge? Battery Status is a tweak that does just that, conveniently letting you know how long it will take to fully charge your iPhone. Information can be delivered with an on-screen alert, spoken or both depending on the settings.

Battery Status Cydia iPhone tweak

Battery Status explains how much charge is remaining on the battery, what's required to achieve 100 percent charge, and how long this will take while plugged in. The alert can be configured to deliver information when plugging in, unplugging, or with an activator gesture at any time.

The most useful information the tweak delivers is the length of charging time needed to top up the battery to 100 percent. It would be great to have the option of just delivering this information, since the percentage can be clearly displayed on the status bar of the iPhone at all times. Knowing when to pick up your device can help make charging more efficient.

Although Battery Status is a useful tweak, we're looking forward to additional functions such as as an audio alert when the battery charge remaining drops below a certain threshold. It would be useful to know how much operating time is left, not just how long it will take to charge. Of course, we'll leave it to the developers to determine if any of this is possible.

You can find Battery Status for $1.00 on the Cydia app store. Search for Battery Status or look in the ZodTTD repo to find this tweak from developer Daniel Taub.
