With the removal of the headphone jack from both iPhone 7 models Apple was able to add an additional speaker to each device. This makes the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus the first two iPhone models with built-in stereo speakers. Apple previously added additional speakers to its iPad models with the introduction of the 12.9-inch iPad Pro in 2015.
