iPhone 7 pre-orders predicted for September 9th

iPhone 7 Rumors

The well-known leaker Evan Blass from @evleaks is at again. This time he has predicted that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be available for pre-order starting September 9th. If Bass is correct, this makes it easier to predict the launch date by referencing previous Apple release cycles. The iPhone-maker typically announces new hardware in the middle of the week and opens pre-orders a few days later. For example, Apple unveiled the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on September 9, followed by pre-orders on September 12. The new handsets then started shipping a couple of weeks later on September 25th.

Over the weekend Bass tweeted that the iPhone 7 will be released during the week of September 12, but it now looks like the release date will be a bit later. If pre-orders open on the 9th it is safe to assume the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will go on sale around September 23rd.

Bass hasn't revealed how he discovered the iPhone 7 pre-order date, but his leaks have been correct many times before. This doesn't mean September 9 is official because his sources could be wrong, or Apple could still change their minds due to unforeseen circumstances.

The iPhone 7 is expected to be announced in the "fall," which is the official listed release date for iOS 10. Apple normally launches its new software alongside its next-generation iPhone models.

The iPhone 7 is rumored to feature a new design without a headphone jack, updated camera with dual-lens camera system and a faster processor. Apple is allegedly holding off on any major features until the release of the iPhone 8.
