Is firmware version 3.2 coming to the iPhone?

Not at this time. The recent iPad software development kit (SDK) released by Apple features iPhone OS version 3.2. However, an update to the iPhone developer website has explained that this firmware 3.2 is currently iPad-only:

Note: iPhone OS 3.2 does not support iPhone and iPod touch devices. It only runs on iPad.

The latest iPhone firmware (3.1.2) was released by Apple almost four months ago, in October 2009. Many users have not hidden the fact they are awaiting an update to fix problems with OS 3.1.2 such as battery drain and needing to reboot the device to get a 3G signal.
