Apple has extended free repair coverage for separated back covers on the 1st generation Apple Watch. According to MacRumors, the service policy applies to devices brought to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider up to three years after the original purchase date. Separated back covers will be repaired free regardless of the device's AppleCare coverage or warranty status.
Customers can buy AppleCare+ coverage for any new iPhone (within 60 days of initial purchase) for $129.
Once purchased, the standard one-year limited warranty is extended to two years and includes two years of complimentary support.
AppleCare+ plans on the iPhone offer device owners several benefits. Here are the main features of AppleCare+ coverage:
AppleCare+ covers two incidents of accidental damage. This includes screen damage or a cracked display. Most damage to the iPhone covered by the plan incurs a $99 service fee for repair, however screen damage can be fixed for less.
For each repair of a broken iPhone screen, Apple charges a $29 service fee.
AppleCare+ covers two incidents of accidental damage. This includes a cracked screen, dented case, broken Touch ID or any other damage. A broken display can be repaired with a service fee of $29, however other damage incurs a higher cost.
Any non-screen damage to the iPhone costs $99 per incident for repair.
