Hot on the heels of Apple's HomePod discontinuation comes a revelation about the HomePod mini. The $99 smart speaker has a secret sensor inside, which is currently deactivated. Apple's plans for the sensor are unclear, however the company could have plans to add more features to HomePod mini with a software update that would activate the internal sensor.

According to reports, Apple continues research and development on its upcoming augmented reality headset known as "Apple Glass". The latest points to collaboration with long-time supplier TSMC to create a cutting-edge display for the wearable device. Micro OLED elements are built more like semiconductors than regular LCD or OLED displays. The concept rendering above by Eunho Kim takes existing Apple design language and imagines what a pair of AR glasses might look like.

Doctors say keep iPhone 12 away from cardiac devices

People with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators are being warned to keep MagSafe iPhones and accessories away from their medical devices. Cardiologists at the Henry Ford Heart and Vascular Institute have tested the effect of an iPhone 12 Pro passing over the chest of a patient. Reporting on the results, Dr. Gurjit Singh explained that the patient's defibrillator was temporarily deactivated by the MagSafe magnet inside the iPhone.
