Finally, proof of the fingerprint scanning iPhone 5S home button has surfaced, assuming photos posted on Nowhereelse.fr are the real thing. Previously only the home button metal spacer was pictured, indicating a change to the home button internal design. Now the full iPhone 5S flex cable appears to have an embedded chip of its own.

Not only this, but the purported fingerprint scanning sensor looks to be pictured as well. The other home button parts pictured don't have the same color or suspicious dark hole in the center. This could very well be the eye of the sensor, which is expected to be contained underneath a sapphire home button. The part leak comes to us just days before Apple is scheduled to announce the upcoming iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

It's official, Apple will unveil its next generation iPhone on September 10th at 10 a.m PT at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. This year's invite reads: "This should brighten everyone's day." The tagline is surrounded by colorful dots that are reminiscent of Apple's upcoming redesigned iOS 7 icons. The official invites were sent out one day before Samsung plans to announce several new products including a possible new smartwatch.

Apple is expected to announce the successor to the iPhone 5 called the iPhone 5S, along with a low-cost device dubbed the iPhone 5C. The next-generation iPhone is rumored to be getting a gold variant, while the new low-cost iPhone will be available in a wide array of colors. Rumored iPhone 5S specs include a faster A7 chip, a new sapphire Home button with a built-in fingerprint sensor and an improved 13MP camera.

iPhone owners can now trade in their old devices at Apple retail stores across the US. Officially the iPhone Reuse and Recycling Program, Apple's offering gives customers up to $280 for a used device, as long as they leave the store with a new two-year contract for a new iPhone. The credit comes in the form of a gift card, which must be used towards a new iPhone.

Of course, any value left over on the card can be spent on merchandise or accessories at the Apple store. Customers must be deemed eligible for an upgrade by their wireless carrier to make use of the trade-in program. According to CNBC, smartphone trade in programs have become the hottest area of all smartphone transactions this year.

AT&T plans to make its Aio Wireless pre-paid plans available nationwide next month. Mid-September will see the service rolled out across the country, competing directly with similar plans offered by T-Mobile and others. When it comes to the basics, Aio plans start at $40 for 250MB of data, with other tiers upping the ante to $55 or $70 for 2GB or 7GB respectively.

To help spark interest in the service, Aio is offering a fall promotion that delivers the third month of service free for customers who sign up by September 29. AT&T is billing Aio as the best way to access a high quality cellular network with no contract. 4G LTE speeds are included, and the new service is less expensive than AT&T's GoPhone prepaid offering.
