Release Day Nears: The Latest Apple iPhone Tidbits

jawbone.jpgCome tomorrow, everyone will be saying "10 days and counting", or "the countdown has begun", or something like that. We're getting ever closer to the launch and just when you think the buzz couldn't grow any more, it does. Each day more and more news is out there about the iPhone, so much that it's getting hard to sift wade through it. Most of the information is, as usual, is non-information - but there are a few new items worth noting.


Apple Announces Improved iPhone Battery with 8 Hours of Talk Time

iphone2.jpgIn a press release issued today out of Cupertino, Apple announced an improved iPhone battery as compared to their preliminary announcements. The new battery, according to Apple, provides 250 hours standby time (10+ days), 24 hours of music playback, 8 hours of talk time, 7 hours of video playback, and 6 hours of internet use.

iphone11.jpgIt has been widely reported, based on Steve Jobs' comment at the 2007 WWDC, that the Apple iPhone will go on sale on Apple's Online Store at 6pm. However, due to the lack of timezone information and a "questionable tone" in Jobs' delivery, speculation ensued as to whether or not the six o'clock time was more of a joke than a reality.
