A patent filed by Apple was recently discovered which, through direct reference to the device, suggests that iChat might be on its way to the iPhone. iChat is Apple's audio and video conferencing software, which also features a multi-network instant messenging client.

Though it's just a rudimentary "Hello World" application, members of the iPhone Dev Wiki team are reporting that they have successfully compiled and launched the first third party application on the iPhone. According to the Dev Wiki website,
"The iphone-binutils project has now correctly assembled and linked Hello World, using entirely free software. The resulting binary runs correctly on the iPhone."

Apple long ago announced it's Bluetooth headset that pairs with the iPhone. Until recently, limited details were available for the headset and Apple was not yet taking orders for the device. Now, however, you can pre-order the headset via Apple's online store. The headset is currently estimated to ship in 2-4 weeks.

For iPhones using firmware 3.0 or higher, forwarding of SMS messages is a built in feature. To forward a text message, simply
1) view the SMS text message conversation containing the message you'd like to forward
2) tap EDIT at the top of the screen
3) check off the message(s) you'd like to forward
4) tap FORWARD at the bottom right of the screen

Though it is often sufficient in Safari, Google Maps, etc, to double-tap in order to zoom in and out - often you need to be able to control your zooming more accurately.
The instructed method of accomplishing such is to use the two fingered "pinch" motion. Pinching your fingers together zooms the display out, while pulling your pinched fingers apart zooms the display in. We've found that this motion can often be a little clumsy, especially for those of us with iPhones that are protected by screen protectors and/or cases.
