Release Day Nears: The Latest Apple iPhone Tidbits

jawbone.jpgCome tomorrow, everyone will be saying "10 days and counting", or "the countdown has begun", or something like that. We're getting ever closer to the launch and just when you think the buzz couldn't grow any more, it does. Each day more and more news is out there about the iPhone, so much that it's getting hard to sift wade through it. Most of the information is, as usual, is non-information - but there are a few new items worth noting.

AT&T Suggests 40% of iPhone Hopefuls are New Customers

While speaking at the NXTcomm communications conference in Chicago, AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson said that 40% of the roughly 1 million inquiries the company has received about the Apple iPhone have been from individuals who are not currently AT&T customers.

19 Million Americans Interested in Buying iPhone

We stopped reporting on survey results a while ago, but this one peaked our interest. Maybe it's because the numbers are so surprising. Whether that's a better reason to ignore it than report it remains unclear, but so be it.

New data from Seattle market research firm M:Metrics indicates that 19 million Americans have expressed interest in buying the Apple iPhone. Consumers in the survey were reportedly well informed and aware of the iPhone's price. Mark Donovan, analyst at M:Metrics was quoted as saying "I don't think we've ever seen a mobile phone that's generated this much awareness".

Aliph Jawbone

Aliph, a very popular mobile audio accessory manufacturer, announced that their award-winning Jawbone Bluetooth headset will be sold alongside the iPhone at all Apple stores.
