iPhone Firmware 1.1.4 Unlock Now Available

When 1.1.4 was released a few days ago, the good news shortly followed that Zibri's ZiPhone jailbreak, released originally for 1.1.3, also worked on 1.1.4. Usually, when a new version if iPhone firmware is released, early adopters have to wait for a new jailbreak method to be released before being able to enjoy third party applications on their iPhone. This time, such was not the case. The bad news, for those who need an unlocked iPhone, was that the unlock feature in ZiPhone was not effective on 1.1.4 iPhones.

Yesterday, a new unlock for 1.1.4 was released and is available via Installer.app. Though most of the iPhone hacking community is recommending that owners not upgrade to 1.1.4, this provides the ability to unlock under 1.1.4 should you require the new firmware. Some owners who had Bluetooth compatibility with their other devices rendered useless by 1.1.3 may wish to make the jump to 1.1.4.

iClarified has posted tutorials depicting, in details, all of the steps required to upgrade to 1.1.4 and unlock using ZiPhone and the newly released 1.1.4 unlock. Follow the links below to the tutorial appropriate for your system (Mac or Windows).
