Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition sold out, Fallout Shelter hits App Store

Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition

After sending the internet into a tizzy with a Fallout 4 countdown video, Bethesda Softworks last night held its own E3 press event where they announced a mobile game called Fallout Shelter, and a Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition. The special edition comes with all the typical limited edition goodies, plus a Pip-Boy replica that is designed to fit on your wrist. The Pip-Boy also includes foam inserts so users can fit their smartphone inside, and use the companion app to manipulate their in-game inventory from their wrist.

Update 2: Gamestop is now sold out accepting pre-orders for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can also sign up for free email and mobile alerts (App Store link) for the Pip-Boy Edition here.

Update: Amazon has listed the Pip-Boy Edition for pre-order again.

The Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition went up for pre-order this morning on both Amazon.com and Bestbuy.com before selling out in about an hour. The Pip-Boy Edition will begin shipping on November 10, 2015, the same day the standard edition of the game is also set to launch. It includes: 1 copy of Fallout 4 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One or Windows, a physical Pip-Boy pocket guide, Vault-Tec perk poster, collectible metal packaging and Pip-Boy replica, stand and capsule case. Here's the official description from Amazon.com:

"This wearable device faithfully replicates the in-game model and comes complete with RobCo Industries stand, custom-printed capsule, adjustable foam cuff, rotating knobs and lights. Designed to accommodate a variety of smartphone devices with customizable foam inserts, the Pip-Boy is the ultimate accessory for the official Pip-Boy companion mobile app that allows players to manage their in-game inventory, perks, holotapes, and more."

The free Fallout Shelter mobile game for the iPhone and iPad is now available for download on the App Store. The app allows players to build, manage and protect their own underground vault. It supports the iPhone 5 or later, iPad Mini 2 or later and iPad 3 or later.

Did you fact check any of this before posting this article?? Half of it is wrong. GameStop is not sold out. They aren't even beginning to take preorders until after E3 ends!! Amazon and Best Buy are the only places currently sold out, and that's because they haven't gotten official numbers yet on how many copies they will be able to sell. It's also listed in the Bethesda online store, where it is not sold out. I mean...damn, do you just make stuff up and publish it for laughs??

I'm very confused now; is it available, is it not available? If it is available, is it only for iOS? If it's not, when will it be? Can I or can I not pre-order? Christ, I thought the internet was the only place to go for accurate, concise information from an unbiased source straight from the Deathclaw's mouth..

The Pip-Boy Edition is backordered at Amazon, Best Buy, Gamestop (Legendary is wrong, Gamestop did put up pre-orders on Tuesday) and Newegg. It was available on the Bethesda store, but the site was crashed until today, and now it is sold out. No other retailers are accepting pre-orders at this time. Does this mean it will never be in stock again? No, but it is very hard to find and technically sold out for the time being. Your best chance at buying one is to use an online tracking service like the one we mentioned in the article.
