iOS App of the Week: Fallout Pip-Boy

Fallout Pip-Boy

Saying video game fans are excited for the release of Fallout 4 next week is an understatement. The collectible Pip-Boy edition has been sold out for months, and the free-to-play building game Fallout Shelter has been a hit on the App Store since its release in June. Taking advantage of the excitement, Bethesda has released the official Fallout Pip-Boy app a few days ahead of the console and PC release on November 10.

Bethesda Game Studios has released a Fallout keyboard for iOS devices one week before Fallout 4 officially launches for consoles. Fallout CHAT allows users to send fully customized texts to other iOS users, and it features over 60 emoji plus animated Vault Boy GIFs. The Fallout CHAT is available on the App Store for free. It supports all devices running iOS 8.4 or later.

Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition

After sending the internet into a tizzy with a Fallout 4 countdown video, Bethesda Softworks last night held its own E3 press event where they announced a mobile game called Fallout Shelter, and a Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Edition. The special edition comes with all the typical limited edition goodies, plus a Pip-Boy replica that is designed to fit on your wrist. The Pip-Boy also includes foam inserts so users can fit their smartphone inside, and use the companion app to manipulate their in-game inventory from their wrist.
