The iPhone XR carries a rating of iP67, which means that it can be submerged under a maximum depth of 1 meter (3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. This is the same rating as the iPhone X and iPhone 8.

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max are rated IP68, withstanding up to 2 meters of depth.

No, the iPhone XR does not have 3D Touch. Users can still access the same deep touch features by tapping and holding on the screen. The replacement for 3D Touch is dubbed Haptic Touch, which is similar to MacBook Pro trackpad Force Touch. A long press on the Liquid Retina display will provide haptic feedback much like 3D Touch.

iPhone XR can be purchased along with accident protection from Apple. AppleCare+ covers up to two incidents of accidental damage over a two-year period. Apple also has launched AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, which can replace a missing or stolen iPhone XR.
