What is the best way to clean the iPhone screen?

iPhone screen

Your iPhone's screen is the single most important part of your iPhone. Not only is the screen the window you view the iPhone interface through, it is the interface. That being the case, the iPhone screen gets dirty quickly and easily.

To clean your iPhone's screen, never use any type of cleaning solvent such as Windex or other chemical agents.

Use water and a lint free, scratch resistant cloth (microfiber preferred) to clean your iPhone screen by dampening the cloth slightly and clean the screen using soft, even strokes. The 3M Microfiber Cleaning Cloth is highly recommended.

DO NOT TRY THIS!!!! I tried this person's advice and it RUINED!!! my iphone. When I try to turn it on it's just blank! wtf!!!

I know you really didn't put it in the washing machine???? WOW!

REALLLLYY!!

Chewing gum + iPhone 4 = ouch.

Solved by soft , slightly damp cloth, gentle strokes and lots of patience

Now good as new!

Awwwwww...gentle strokes just got my iphone screen all sticky. You should be more specific. :( <--- frowny face

I droped my phone in water what can I do to restore the screen

try puting it in rice, take the battery out and submerse both in dry rice. This is what the att store told me to do and it worked for my iphone. But you have to do it quickly after it has happened.

are you serious? how could rice clean a phone screen? that's ridiculous

The rice would be to absorb the moisture from the internal parts of the phone, not to clean the screen.

make your own cleaner. go to the drugstore and get some 90% isoprophyl alcohol. Mix with spring or filtered water (about 10% ratio of alcohol) and you'll have a harmless solution that makes glass spotless with zero streaks.

i make my own, but this is not what I use. I mix alcohol with mustard seeds and water. the mustard ph level has an amazing cleaning property. if out of mustard horseradish also works.

How about http://squeeg.it ?

I use brasso gadgetcare on my iPhone & iPad screens, keeps finger smudges at bay. - www.brasso.co.uk

Using a screen protector on a phone is great way to protect against smudges and fingerprints, so one doesn't have to wipe and clean it so frequently. However, one should be wary of the screen protectors they buy, for some may effect the screens texture or colour adversely.

Many screen protectors, like GadgetShieldz for example, are smooth and clear enough to allow one to use his/hers phone as if no screen protector is there. In this case the screen protector is used unnoticeably, and appears almost "invisible."

I have to agree with the original post and say that a microfiber cleaning cloth really does the trick to get rid of smudges, and you don't even need to use liquids. Try the ARTcloth - http://www.lynktec.com/store.html?page=shop.browse&category_id=12

It is antibacterial and dual-textured microfiber, so you can clean and then polish. Works great on my laptop screen and glasses, too!

I use M&S ScreenCleen, product works amazingggg! picked it up at a local Verizon Store. I also think they sell it on Amazon.com, gonna go purchase another one now, just ran out...

This is what apple recommends:

I use Stickems screen cleaners - they work really well and they stick to the back of your phone so you can carry it around with you! Very cool - stickems.co.uk

i rubbed my screen on a leather couch and it looked great. just make sure there's no sand or dirt. a piece of quartz on a glass screen is an instant scratch.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful tip; your ideas really help me to keep my iPhone clean.

Hi there,
We have some products that may help!
We have a self cleaning screen protector, which prevents muck, and grime getting onto the screen of the phone.
Check them out at http://www.nutshellcovers.com

Good luck!

I got some small drops of polyurethane finish on the glass screen. I let them dry then scraped off with a single-edge razor blade. Then rinsed with water on a lint-free wipe. I then cleaned with a small amount of good glass cleaner (unless you want a streaky mess, never use Windex on *anything*). Finally, I buffed with a cloth used to clean eyeglasses— micro-fiber, I guess.

The screen works and is a bright as new. Frankly, I think the glass can take a lot of "cleaning abuse" and still come up shiny.

well i think there is an easier way to protect the screen of your iphone. Personally i have used liquid screen protector and it has worked for me. I found the product on a website called www.shark-proof.com and results were really good.
