How to watch the 2016 Google I/O keynote on your iOS device

Google I/O 2016

Google's developer's conference, Google I/O, is scheduled to kick off on Wednesday, May 18, at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. The three day event will include a two hour keynote where Google CEO Sundar Pichai will discuss product and platform innovation. The event will also include a variety of other talks focused on Google services, such as its ad platform and Android. People attending the event can download the recently updated Google I/O app to access the conference map, create personal schedules and set up event notifications.

The app also allows iOS users who can't physically attend the event to livestream sessions from their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. The Explore section of the app features display cards with information on all the upcoming sessions. The sessions are listed by time and date, and allow you to easily add them to your Google calendar.

The main keynote will take place on May 18 at 10:00 AM PST. You can livestream the event on your iOS device, or to your Apple TV using AirPlay. The event will also be availble to livestream through the official Google I/O events page.

To livestream the event from your iOS device to your Apple TV, just swipe up on your Home screen to open Control Center, then tap the AirPlay icon. From here you can enable AirPlay if your iOS device is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV.

The Google I/O 2016 app is available for free on the Apple App Store. It supports all devices running iOS 9.0 or later.
