Scott Cawthon releases full trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's spinoff, Sister Location

Sister Location

Developer Scott Cawthon has been teasing a new spinoff/sequel to his hit game, Five Nights at Freddy's for a few weeks, and today he has released the first full trailer for the upcoming game. Cawthon released a teaser image of an animatronic female character with the title "Sister Location" in April, but he hasn't revealed many details about the new title. His official website currently features the tagline "everyone, please stay in your seats," to go along with the original tagline, "there was never just one."

Five Night at Freddy's fans have speculated that the new game is based on the novel, The Silver Eyes. It is noted in the novel that the original Freddy creator built several animatronics for other locations. Some fans thought the new location would be an amusement park based on the "please stay in your seats" tagline, but the trailer shows a new band led by the pigtailed girl from Five Nights at Freddy's 4. The trailer also says that "anger is restless" deep below the ground, suggesting that the band has been in storage somewhere.

The trailer has managed to breathe some new life into an over saturated franchise. Cawthon seemed to put the final nail in the Five Nights at Freddy's coffin back in January when he released and quickly pulled FNaF World from Steam after it received too many negative reviews. Cawthon is known for quickly releasing games, and some fans have grown tired of the franchise after its quick rise in popularity. Five Nights at Freddy's has also spawned a plush toy line, and upcoming movie adaptation.

Sister Location will be the sixth game in the Five Nights in Freddy's franchise. The game is slated for a fall 2016 release.
