Dev-Team Working on iPhone OS 3.1.2 Jailbreak for Windows

Unbelievable that it's already been three months since the release of PwnageTool 3.1.4 for Mac OS X. The latest installment in iPhone Dev-Team's jailbreaking arsenal makes it possible to execute a tethered jailbreak on the iPhone 3GS fresh out of the box. This hardware is running iPhone OS 3.1.2.

Windows users have been waiting for a an update, and now it may be on its way. MuscleNerd has announced via Twitter that the team is working on redsn0w 0.9, a fast jailbreak solution for Windows and other platforms. No word yet on when this new version of redsn0w will be released.

Tweets from MuscleNerd:

ok 3.1.2 port seems semi-useful... btw new bootlogo feature for redsn0w 0.9 http://twitpic.com/wwkdm (since logome is gone)

Another interesting tweet from the Dev-Team describes their year-end blog statistics. The team had 33,883,489 visits in 2009. No doubt that jailbreaking is popular as ever and will become even more so with the release of new tools.
