People with implanted pacemakers and defibrillators are being warned to keep MagSafe iPhones and accessories away from their medical devices. Cardiologists at the Henry Ford Heart and Vascular Institute have tested the effect of an iPhone 12 Pro passing over the chest of a patient. Reporting on the results, Dr. Gurjit Singh explained that the patient's defibrillator was temporarily deactivated by the MagSafe magnet inside the iPhone.

While the AirPower charging mat never came to fruition, Apple has another option coming before the end of the year. The MagSafe Duo charger was first revealed at the iPhone 12 product launch. Production units have already made their way to reviewers. Apple has not officially discussed a release date for the MagSafe Duo, but at one Apple Authorized Reseller it can already be ordered.

The most recent iOS update has arrived for the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. iOS 14.2.1 has been released for these models only, with other compatible devices staying at iOS 14.2. While this is a minor update, it offers several bug fixes for owners of iPhone 12 series devices.
