Hi-Rez Studios launches Jetpack Fighter for iOS

Hi-Rez Studios, the creators of SMITE, has released their first mobile title for iOS. Jetpack Fighter is a side-scrolling, action game with swipe-to-attack controls. In the game players must "dash" through various enemies and hazards to rid a futuristic world of evil robots and killer bosses.

The game promises to deliver "deep and rewarding gameplay" with plenty of characters and weapons to unlock. As a launch bonus, SMITE users can unlock the goddess Nemesis by syncing their Jetpack account with their Hi-Rez account. Players can also replay missions to collect additional loot and compete in PvP time trials.

Olloclip launches the Studio photography system for iPhone

iPhone photographers can give their images a boost with the Olloclip Studio Case, featured at this year's CES in Las Vegas. The drop-resistant case is part of a complete system of accessories designed specifically for mobile photography and video on the iPhone 6/6s and Plus. Studio comes with six pieces that fit onto integrated rails along the sides of the case.

Apple announces record breaking App Store sales over the holidays

Apple today announced record breaking sales for the App Store through the 2015 and 2016 holiday season. Customers spent $1.1 billion on apps and in-app purchases worldwide from December 21 to January 3rd, "setting back-to-back weekly records for traffic and purchases," according to the press release. The App Store recorded its biggest single-day in sales on Christmas Day before breaking the record one week later on January 1, 2016 with $144 million in downloads.

Siri-controlled ceiling fans, dimmer switches and more unveiled at CES

HomeKit-enabled devices from Hunter Fan Company, iDevices and iHome are making a splash at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. All three companies have unveiled iOS-controlled home products such as ceiling fans and dimmer switches.

The Hunter Fan Company announced two Wi-Fi enabled fans named Symphony and Signal at CES 2016. iOS users can control Symphony and Signal with Siri or sync them to other HomeKit-enabled products to create "custom scenes." An example of a custom scene given by Hunter include automatically turning on the fan's light, locking your door and setting your temperature "in just one step."

Fitbit announces new fitness watch called Blaze

Fitbit today unveiled its new fitness watch called "Blaze" at CES in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Blaze is a performance watch that tracks and records activities such as daily steps, calories burned and more. The watch does not include its own app store like other smartwatches on the market, but it does ship with the guided workout app FitStar preinstalled. The watch also lacks GPS, but users can pull GPS data from their smartphone. The Blaze also tracks 15 different types of exercises and activities, such as "running, walking, tennis, basketball, soccer, and elliptical machine workouts," according to The Verge.
