The first ever Pokémon GO Fest has been announced in Chicago on Saturday, July 22, but all trainers are encouraged to take part by working alongside those who can attend in person.

Pokémon GO Fest is a worldwide celebration of the game's one-year anniversary. Last week Niantic updated the game with a special Pikachu and Anniversary Box to kick off the long celebration. Over the next few months, Niantic will be hosting several live events around the world beginning in Grant Park, Chicago, IL.

Niantic today announced Adventure Week will kick off on Thursday, May 18. Adventure Week is the latest Pokémon Go event celebrating the collective journey players have taken since the game was released in 2016. Players have walked more than 15.8 billion kilometers since Pokémon Go was launched, according to the Niantic blog .

"Back in December, we collectively walked past the equivalent distance of Earth to Pluto and now, we’re on a journey past the edge of the solar system! As of May 11, the Pokémon GO community has traveled more than 15.8 billion kilometers, and more adventures still await…"

Niantic announced today that it will hold a Pokémon GO Eggstravaganza over Easter weekend and Spring break. Starting today at 1:00 P.M. PDT a greater variety of select Pokémon will be available in the wild. Trainers will also earn more Candy for every Egg they hatch and level up even faster with double XP. In addition to all the extra bonuses, Lucky Eggs will be 50% off in-game shops allowing players to potentially earn up to four times as much XP throughout the event.

Niantic has released Pokémon GO for Apple Watch on the App Store. The news comes after recent rumors that the project was scrapped, which proved to be false. Trainers with Apple Watch can explore the world and discover nearby Pokémon, as well as collect items from PokéStops. Sessions with the game can be logged as a Workout, which logs the distances covered and counts towards daily Activity rings.

All month long we've been looking at the best Halloween updates and apps, and today Niantic Labs has announced their own candy-themed event for its popular title, Pokémon GO. Starting on October 26th, Pokémon GO players will earn double the amount of Candy every time they catch, hatch and transfer Pokémon. The first Pokémon GO in-game event will end on November 1st.
